The First Coast Region, spanning from New Smyrna to Savannah, is taking a bold step toward global culinary recognition as it advances its candidacy to become North America’s first World Region of Gastronomy by 2027. This initiative celebrates nearly 500 years of culinary heritage, bringing together local chefs, restaurants, food enthusiasts, and cultural institutions to showcase the region’s diverse flavors and rich history.

A Culinary Destination in the Making

With a blend of Indigenous, Spanish, African, and Caribbean influences, First Coast’s food scene is a true reflection of its historical and cultural richness. Through strategic collaborations, immersive experiences, and a strong commitment to sustainability, this initiative aims to place First Coast on the international gastronomic map.
